On Sunday, May 27, 2013 at The 17th Annual Community Mosaic Street Painting Festival sponsored by the East End Arts Council, we gathered eyes and stories of participants. We added to the installation of 50 blindfolds by the end of the day. Participants were encouraged to “try on another’s eyes” and leave a story about Main Street to share. This aspect of the project really brought it home to the individual.

In the empty storefronts at 125 and 127 Main Street will be an installation of 100 silk blindfolds printed with residents’ and visitors’ eyes, photographs and words. This installation will be created with public at The 17th Annual Community Mosaic Street Painting Festival sponsored by the East End Arts Council, taking place over Memorial Day Weeekend on Sunday, May 27, 2013. (Rain date is Monday May 28.) Participants will be encouraged to “try on another’s eyes” and leave a story about Main Street to share.
